The Gift of Sight

by slm - Libra

Sitting in my secret place, looking all around
Sitting there in silence, listening for a sound
A crow calls in the distance, another one off to my left
I thanked You for my hearing, and prayed for the deaf

I thanked You for my eye sight and what I now can see
For I used to be a blind man, but now You've set me free
I marvel at Your wonders, that surround me in this place
So thankful prayers are answered upon Your throne of grace

I see You in the distance, as I walk towards You each day
Your word is my direction as You teach me how to pray
I thank You for Your love for me, which I hardly understand
Yet Your always there to pick me up when I stretch out my hand

Sitting in my secret place, looking all around
Sitting there in silence, praising You for what I've found
I thank You for this pretty day and the words this pen will write
But most of all I thank You Lord, for this precious gift of sight
