Past It

by Percy Albertross - Taurus

Past it

No matter how I try to mislead,
I’m getting old I must concede.
My long thick hair has all but fled,
A hat now warms my balding head.

I used to drink and dance all night,
And stroll home in the morning light.
But now it gets to ten thirty,
And my comfy bed calls sleep to me.

Fashion now is not an issue,
-I need a sleeve to hide my tissue!
Can’t put them in kappa jackets.
To clean the snot would cost a packet.

Wooly slippers, thermal gloves,
Umbrella to shield the rain above.
Cardie with pockets, “that cap looks smart”
“Pull my finger… I’m gonna fart!”

I’ll just watch the footie and sup me beer.
I hope the wife don’t interfere.
I’ll just sit down in front urt telly.
God my feet are bloody smelly.

My wife’s told me to cut down on beer,
As my belly juts out like Wigan pier.
It’s not that bad I always say,
It’s become quite useful as a tray.
