The Ocean of Love

by Kelly Hamrick - Gemini

The drive began
and went on forever
to get to the destination
of where I wanted to be
I opened the door and got right out
and stood on the sand, the waves at my feet
then turned around and walked back
and sat down in the green grass beyond the shore
I closed my eyes
and thought of the waves
crashing against a huge rock
and disappearing into the sand
I sat there for years
in that same green spot of grass
watching the waves crash at the rock
Till the day it disappeared
it was the ocean of love

Reason for writing:

this poem was written about the journy into love, and where you want it to be, and once you get there, you stay comfortable for a while, and then it all fades away...its basically comparing love to the ocean, in a way...it has a lot of emotion behind it, i cant really say what exactly inspired me to write it, love i would say, because i know how it feels, and i know what its like to have it all disappear.
