Best Friends

by Kelly Hamrick - Gemini

I still remember twelve years ago
when I went to that little green house
I walked inside and standing there
was a little blonde haired girl
She smiled at me with her big blue eyes
and told me to come over
I ran up to her and we began to play
with all the toys in sight
Time went by
we stayed together
and we became best friends
Never to leave eachothers side

Now we are older and more mature
with all the pressures of the world
All I know is if I call
She will be right by my side
helping me through anything
Both of us scared of so many things
Through thick and thin we stick together
as sisters that always care
We both have been through really tough times
and more along the way
But I will always have that blonde haired girl
to turn to when I need a friend

From major fights to jelly beans
and water balloons in the summer
getting our licenses and driving around
and even getting pulled over
From boyfriend to boyfriend
and friend to friend
silly string to toilet paper
I still remember so long ago
of the day that we met
The day I went to the little green house
and the day we became best friends

Reason for writing:

I wrote this a long time ago for an ex best friend that I had...we aren't best friends anymore and I really have none of those feelings about her anymore...the complete opposite actually, but it shows how much i really did care for her as a friend...and how i once felt
