Human Resource

by A.J. - Capricorn

In silent toungue,
we cry out to the moon to save our souls.
One last desperate attempt.
The shame over ridden by guilt.
Less then a heart beat,
brings fear to our eyes.
A look so raw,
it chills the bone.
Unforsaking and relentless-
the thud of fear and anger,
churning within the soul.
A willingness to submit, succumb
to an unforgiving force.
We lower ourselves to our knees,
much less of human beings then we had ever intended.
Yet we concede our defeat
sheilding our eyes
from the brightness of hate.
We do not lift our heads, look up.
For fear of catching our reflection.
Because we do not stop,
we push the guilt inside - to please.
But when we see the truth,
our sunken eyes and coal black ahir, we cringe in self disgust.
And yet we continue to issue the blows.
Self mutilation.
Self pity.

Reason for writing:

    Just an observation of college...occasionally!
