A new day begins, as we lie there in bed, The emotions are mixed from elation to dread. For as I snuggle there on your chest, Feelings stirring within are simply the best. The elation is there with you next to me, And the knowledge that soon, this is what shall be. But, my darling, as the day really starts, There's a heaviness that reveals itself in my heart. For my thoughts seem to wander, evening I see, Alone in the darkness, you're not there with me. Darkness engulfs me to the depths of my soul, Lonliness surrounds me, swallows me whole. Restlessly I lie there, despretly awake, Eyes start to glaze over, a tiny tear overtakes. Though deep in my heart, I sincerely do know, Again I'll be close to you, I'm missing you so. But I know I'll be awaken before the rising sun, Then we'll be together, and again we'll be one.
Reason for writing:
Before my love was living with me, he would spend the night once in a while, but mostly he would come over before work in the wee hours of the morning and have coffee with me. Was a wonderful way to start my day, but I missed him so terribly when he wasn't there.
