requiem for debbie gibson

requiem for debbie gibson
 Such a big day
 	and a wind
			smashes
		through the streets
lifts your face to the lake
		not quite felt
		 	not seen
	swelling trees
	plumes of purples and green
		green everywhere
		and white and yellow
	flashing spring police on patrol
		chirp I heard
plug up the nostrils with cottony billows of freshwater
				the land is calm
	stand where traffic should be
		it's not
	big wheels and skateboards
		sanctuary
Sunbath
	flickering over blooms from bark
the earthy contrast to the glory of waterland
			down on that beach
			a stone's throw
		sand is spat from sandals
		surf and sky smiling
				miGod they finally know
Itty bugs
	out in the yard
		backflip and
	cartwheel
	the chlorophyll king is generous
		serf-like insectessimal
	pop they pop
		jump and
			bend
		under a log
		hide
		from a harsh sun
		cover up in moss
	never invited to the beach
	they buzz too much
Front-porch quiet
	a swishy symphony
jumbled up in taste and smell
the car hasn't moved in days

Reason for writing:

a nice day i spent indoors.
