Lord, how did this happen? It doesn't seem fair.
How do we handle the sorrow we share?
There's so many things that we wanted to say;
There wasn't a chance and so now we pray
That you will deliver our message to him.
We'll write him a letter it starts out:
Dear Jim,
We just want to tell you how much we all care
And we would have helped you if we had been there.
We're sorry you felt so alone in the end
That you couldn't turn to your family or friends.
There's nothing you did that we couldn't forgive.
If only you told us. Why didn't you Jim?
We don't know the answers. But please know it's true.
We'll never forget and we'll always love you.
There's so many good things that we will remember.
Please ask God to help us to hold it together.
And now you're in heaven and out of your pain.
We know you are happy, and please kiss Lorraine.
God bless you dear nephew, dear brother, dear friend,
Our cousin, uncle, daddy and son.
We thank you for loving us all.
Everyone
