Long ago On a pleasant winters evening We went for a stroll Down a beautiful country lane Snow gently falling like stardust from Heaven Peaceful and quiet The scenery, breathtaking for sure A country home all aglow Lights twinkling and shrouded in snow Christmas had passed But the joy still filled the air I was with my love All was right with the world Joy filled my being, and spilled out around me Serenity abounded, like a beautiful treasure How I long for more of the same, when I think of your name On that beautiful country lane… Tom Wood Copyright © 1999 copyright #TW99L4
