The Movement

by J. M. Ramlow - Aquarius

Quiet so thick it wraps around me,
Enfolding me completely;
So I remain motionless for fear of,
Breaking the valley’s silence.

Then it creeps in,
Removing the stillness of this coccoon,
Setting me free to,
Hear it’s influence in the firs,
And cedars,
And see it’s persuasion on the water,
And feel it’s whispers on my skin, chilled.

I am pulled from a silent womb,
To the sounds and the touch,
Of it’s motion.

Reason for writing:

    I was standing one morning near my rural home. It was very foggy and so quiet; life seemed to be muted in that moment and I knew what it must have felt like in the womb. Then all at once, the wind came up and it was as if I had just been born. Everything came alive.
