Little Fellow

by J. M. Ramlow - Aquarius

Poor little fellow, out in the cold,
I have known you from winter’s of old.

With your little, black cap and your cheek so pale,
You’ve been searching this hill and over the dale.

For just one simple, small crust of bread,
My shy little fellow, are you underfed?

For the jay chases you from the food I share,
And the junko flies at you through the air.

My fat little fellow as you chirp your call,
I see from your belly, you’re not poor at all!

Reason for writing:

Watching the birds feed outside my window.
