Confusion

by Georgia Davis - Gemini

The world is such a funny thing-
Laughing, crying, lingering.

Sometimes happy, often sad.
Rather loving, ever mad.

It is quite an awful mess.
What happens next? No one can guess.

And there is a sense of fear-
It never fades, it's always near.

What if one day I'm shot in a street?
What if the Devil I should meet?

I'm drowning in a horrid world.
I'm being tossed, thrown, and hurled.

In a world so ugly and so blue
Honest people number so few.

Yet God is present, He's our friend.
He's there with us to the end!

Reason for writing:

I write poems to try to inspire people to change for the better. People don't want to hear that they do something wrong, but the rhyme often sticks with them. This poems is crying out for a better world. It openly defies how the world works. There are many things wrong with the world right now, and there always will be-unless we as humans stand up. As individuals, we are nothing. If each individual stands up for the right thing, we become a strength that no one can push down. This reminds people that God is there for us even though we may run into evil things, and even if we don't do the right thing.
