A Cry For Life

by Vashita Aldridge - Cancer

" A Cry For Life "

I lie now only in memory without your concern,

maybe this is one experience from which you will learn.

A few more months and you would have given me life,

in eighteen more years, I could have had a wife.

God gave you the privilege to live

why couldn't you give me the same?,

for now I lay in the ground under a tombstone with no name.

I have limbs that can't be identified,

and a soul crushed within ...

" Mommy didn't you know that murder was a sin".

Reason for writing:

The reason I wrote this poem was because a friend of mine was contemplating getting an abortion and I just wanted to paint a picture of reality to her.
And to any woman thinking about getting an abortion.
