A Mother

by Vashita Aldridge - Cancer

" A Mother "

In life we are given title's that we feel we may not
 have earned,
we keep those title's with us as we live, we grow,
 we learn.

And she who has touched the life of a child,
who has taken the time to cherish a tiny smile...

She who has used her hands to comfort, teach, love
 and to embrace,
who can't even count how many times she's taken the
frown off of a little child's face...

Who may not think she has been the best at what job
God has assigned her to do for another,
deserves none other than the well earned title ,
 of a mother.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem to a woman I know who gave her son up for
adoption and every time mothers day would come around she'd
be sad because she felt like she didn't deserved to be called a mother. And I wanted her to know she is still a mother and she doesn't have to feel that way, because she did what she thought was in the best interest of her child and that alone proves that she loves him and she is a good mother for doing that instead of having an abortion.
