One Hell Of a Night
By Richard Maxfield
4-28-2000

Knock knock on the wall
The ghost of the past
Here to haunt again
It wont be the last

Quite foot steeps
Coming down the hall
Slowly open the door
No ones there at all

Crack and pop
The old house moans
Lonely dog howls
Anguished spirit groans

Sharpen claws scratching
On the window screen
Chills invade the room
Of demon fend

Haunted shadows dance
Twisted trees in the wind
Alone in the dark
No where a friend

Shutters slamming
As lonely wind blows
Creaking doors from what
No one knows

Unfamiliar scents waft
Suddenly their gone
Creeping feeling
Your not alone

With in the darkness
Where torched souls scream
Disembodied spirits roam
Horror, pain the theme

Hold tight to the pillow
Waiting for mornings light
Cover your head
One hell of a night
