I See The Light For the First Time

by Jared Stipelman - Virgo

Oh how long have I lived without living,
Stifled behind that which came before me,
Oh how long have I dwelled this land,
Laughing hollow laughs, crying depthless tears,
For they were for others,
Curtained behind the achievements of those past,
Those sustained only on digression to their prime.
But now the fog is fading,
The sun is rising,
My shackles have been unlocked,
Freedom is mine,
No longer must I live on others,
My laughs are of true happiness,
My tears of love and loss,
For the first time in my life,
I can truly breathe.

Reason for writing:

    Getting olders not all bad.
