Whilst I roamed the whispering wood to glance, To see earth's wonders I did per chance, Come 'cross a hollow in a tree, It called me 'oer and beckoned me, Inside this crooked knot so bold, Stood a woodland sprite as true as told, His clothes were green to match the leaves, As sprites are stealthy..man believes, He called me closer...called me near, As plain as day and without fear, He said "Three secrets I have true", "If you call my name... I'll give to you", I asked him why now this should be, For woodland sprites run fierce and free, "I'm not about to shout my case..." "I'm trapped inside this cursed place..." "I'll tell you secrets...I know of things" "I know what fate and fortune brings..." "Now call my name and set me loose...." "Release me now...set free my noose" He whispered a word into my ear, As I crouched down low... so I could hear, I paused for a moment deep in thought, Should I really do this...had I aught, Then barely thinking...stood up proud, And called his name... out clear and loud, Then like a flash he was set free, And was full grown as tall as me, "You wanted secrets... secrets three", "Now I shall tell these unto thee", "There are three things you must but know", "I'm bound these things for you to show", "Never trust a woodland sprite", "For they do lie with all their might", "And never listen to their voice", "For men comply with scarce a choice", I stopped him there...I called to cease, "These secrets give me not a piece", "I know these things...and now tell me right", "Now tell me something of my plight...", "You will be sure to hear me clear?", "For my final secret you shall hear...", "It tells of your fate as from this day", "For I'll be very far away", "Your fate is mine and mine is yours", "You complain most bitterly of your flaws", "Now you are trapped within my curse..." "..to live inside this leafed purse.." I had no chance to say a thing, Upon myself...did this curse I bring? Now the sprite is loose to wander free, "...Would you crouch down close....I have secrets three..."
