From my very first breaths I was sheltered, Naked to the truths surrounding me, I tried to get away, But something holds me back, Is that grip enough, To keep me in my prison of thought, Sheltered in the shield of denial, Is the light of my dreams enough, To illuminate my path through the darkness, That has been set before me, the blackness of reality, Does true happiness lie between the meridians of light and darkness, The shadow which shields us from the devastating heat of our expectations, Lessens the blow of grim reality, Both are necessary though, For without light And without darkness, There cannot exist shadow.
Reason for writing:
Say what you want, beleive what you want, but face it, the worlds not a nice place. Sometimes our dreams are all we have to get by on, but if you dont temper em with a bit of truth, youre gonna get yourself bseverely dissappointed.
