White Rose

by Jada Andrews - Capricorn

There"s a white rose standing all alone
within a field of thorns
She stands so silent, tearfully
and all day long she mourns.
She once was red and vibrant
but that was taken away
the thorns bled her beautiful color gone
on the ground now it does lay
The thorns took her leaves away from her
they knew her every fear
they left her hurting all alone
and now with every tear...
they laugh and scorn and live their lives
without a single thought
to all the pain the rose is in
and all the pain they"ve brought.
There"s a white rose standing all alone
and no one seems to care,
there"s a white rose, dying all alone
it was more than she could bear.

Reason for writing:

Sort of my attempt at writing in metaphor....I'll leave you all to guess who the rose stands for...
