Inhale… We lie on the couch
In a serene silence
Exhale… My head is buried in your neck
I can hear your small heart beat
Inhale… The sound of air moving in and out of your lungs
Gently sooths my soul
Exhale… The room is lit by only one light
This time, the TV is glowing in the back round
Inhale… You gently stroke my hair with your soft hands
Putting me more at ease
Exhale… "I am tired…"
Inhale…
"Then go to sleep"… Exhale…
Inhale… Sleep slowly starts to cover my eyes
Thoughts of her rush into my mind
Exhale… The warmth of her body makes me so happy
I could die in her arms
Inhale… I can feel the love she has for me
A smile forces itself onto my face
Exhale… I feel so close to you
So loved…
Inhale… Loved…
Exhale… Loved…
Inhale… This is how it is going to always be when we are
married…"
"I know…" Just before this, she gave me a back massage
It hurt before, but she made the pain go away
Inhale… And as I lay in her sweet embrace
I realize that all of my problems disappear
Exhale… I forget about all the problems we have had
All the sadness and anger…
Inhale… It all fades away to happiness, joy, and love
I have never felt like this with anybody else before
Exhale… And I don't think I ever will, either…
I know that this is the person I want to spend my life with
Inhale… "Petra?…"
"yes?"… "I love you, Petra…"
"I love you, too"… as she hugs me tighter
I am overwhelmed with happiness
Exhale… Tired… so comfortable…
No, need to stay awake…
Inhale… Need to… stay…

Reason for writing:
Tonight, I went over to my girlfriend's house, and for the little while we were alone, I got to do one of my favorite things in life... Lie next to my girlfriend on a couch. It always means so much to me, so I decided to write a poem about it. I hope you like it! Please comment on it, I would appreciate it! Thanks! And I want to thank Bronwen for inspiring me to write this poem in this format. And I am glad that she is understanding and nice. BRONWEN IS MY INSPERATION!!! :)
