The weeping tree dips to the lake, Dark water...tears from ages past, Each branch so weak and prone to shake, Reflected in dark water vast, "Why do you cry..my weeping tree", "Does the sun not shine upon your bough", "I am so lonely...can't you see", "For I cannot smile...I know not how", "For I weep for sorrow...sorrow's sake", "Through light and shadow...dusk and dawn", "This lake you see...I alone did make", "My task you see...is but to mourn", "Oh weeping tree...sad weeping tree", "Is not the sun enough to lift", "The world is bright...can you not see?", "Could nothing free this callous rift ?", "There is no cure...no potion made", "No cheerfulness in branches these", "I 'll give you shelter...give you shade", "Protect you from this restless breeze", "Whilst all around are straight and tall", "I stand here crooked...stand here bent", "For sadness is my only call", "As all my dreams are quashed and spent", "Engulfed in solice I shall be", "Sit hence beneath and hear my woe", "You have no grief... come share with me", "Console me once before you go", "You have a choice...you're free to walk", "I bind you not to make you stay", "Should you sit by me..by chance to talk", "...A deed have you procured this day",
