She cries sometimes
the empty tears that lie
behind a bitter mind
and every tear brings her
closer to the demons that
she tries to hide deep in
the recesses of her hollow
heart where no one can
reach them and they
can't do any harm.
[well, except to her]
She cries sometimes
she just lets go and
puts out the fragile flame
inside her soul
and every tear puts out
the brilliant light that
once radiated in her eyes...
now, so cold and empty
she hides those eyes, so
they can't do any harm.
[well, except to her]
She cries sometimes
far from sight of anyone
who could try to understand
and every tear hidden keeps
her further away from the
comforting arms of anyone
who could help her,
but she won't let them see her...
she hides her pain so it can't do any harm.
[well, except to her]
She cried last night
and he came to her side like
an angel of light.
And every tear cried in his arms
cleansed a part of her heart that
she didn't know was there.
His touch ignited the flame,
so nearly extinguished in her soul.
she doesn't have to hide anymore.
She's free,
she won't hurt herself anymore.

I cry sometimes...and I wanted to remember that it's ok...and that sometimes you
just need a shoulder to cry on to make it all right again...
