Once Unfettered

by Yvoire - Gemini

The day breaks.
The birds sing their song of a new beginning
The sun shines brightly, its rays offering the warmth of rejuvenation
The morning glory slowly opens itself up, permitting visibility of its utopian beauty.

The body wakes.
Slightly tighten by a long period of rest
Slowly it rises, reaching for the stars, then bending down towards the center of the earth
The eyes open; taking into account all of the surroundings.

A child is born.
Gazing into the distance, the willows gently bend with the wisp of the wind
The owl sitting high in the great oak, scans the field for field mice
The crows crow a bone chilling crow, taking flight into the majestic sky
The man in the moon cracks a Cheshire cats grin.

The purity is lost.
A gun shot is heard, a blood curdling scream pierces through the nights’ silence
The smell of human waste and trash penetrates through the once fresh nights’ air
Skyscrapers and dark cold pavement replace the once clear fields.

Tobacco is freely distributed,
Marijuana readily available,
Children are tripping on LSD,
Adults are dancing on ecstasy.

The owl is gone.

Nothing is pure anymore
