Deep down inside of my heart Lives a dream Of happiness and laughter Of being held in someone's arms Knowing that they love me But my mind cannot believe this dream It is too good to be true I have been hurt too many times To fall in love with you So, please do not get too close Around my heart there is a wall That no one can get through So please do not get mad When I tell you not to get too close I am not going to be hurt again I will not let that happen I just want to be in love again To be held when I cry I need someone Who will dance with me in the rain Someone who can accept The places I have been And the things that I have done I know that is too much to ask And that is why I do not I will just live with this dream Living deep in my heart And you will never know That I wish I could fall in love with you
