Sonnet For A Saturday Morning.

by Cain Pilkington - Virgo

When distant dreams lie peaceful in their bed
And dismal thoughts of Friday drift away,
The curtains curse the coming light of day
Which Saturn sows and I would turn to lead.
To ease my existential thoughts of dread
I slide into the warmth of where she lay.
When she returns to chase my fears away,
I feel her hand so softly soothe my head.
If only I could force the Gods to freeze
The heartless beat of time that beats my heart.
Then I could stay forever, if I please,
Suspended in the goodness of her heart.
But I'm a fool to think the stars don't mock,
We cannot beat the ticking of the clock.

Reason for writing:

    I don't want to say - I'm shy!
