As I Cry

As I cry so softly, alone in my room, I write you this poem
As I cry silently, my pillow smothering my face, I think about you
As I cry, the whispered tears fall slowly down my face
As I cry, my eyes darken, dimmed with melancholy dreams
As I cry, I look in the mirror...I break it as I look into it....
As I cry, I fall asleep, to be awaken in the morning by the salty taste
As I cry, I think of you....
Please don’t make me cry anymore

Reason for writing:

    I wrote this for my first love, who I adored to no end, and he broke my heart...I cried seemingly endlessly for weeks after that
