I VIEW THE WORLD FROM SWOLLEN EYES (read please!)

by Person needing assistance - Aquarius

I watched them sit on the street.
I watched them go without a meal to eat.
I have watched them,
their eyes void of hope,
surviving off scraps most people would consider trash.

We walk past them.
our feet pattering aimlessly over their heads.
We spit and drop our coffee, on the place they call
their beds.
They watch us, but we'd rather pic up a stray animal
and give it a meal.
How do you think that feel?
When your human worth is measured by your material possessions,
our most evil obsession.
That it is killed or be killed,
eat it all, or starve.
Rather than share, and care.
we decide if life is fair.
there is more than enough space,
and plenty of air.

Pitter patter aimlessly, but eagerly by,
I watch your determined strides
as a coin plops in my cup,
I view it all absently from swollen eyes.
