Pomp and circumstance Rings all through the air. Peeking out from the caps Is long, blond hair. They seem so young, Yet so adult, Reaching for their diplomas Through all the tumult. It seems so long ago That I was in this place, With a gown on my shoulders And a smile on my face. But watching the students, So young and so fresh, I know, like me, They'll live their lives to the best.
Reason for writing:
A music student of mine invited me to graduation, and I started thinking about what had happened since my own.
