Angry Gods

by Magnus Alexander - Gemini

Angry Gods

Misleading glimpses open up
The other side shelters the pain
Another death, another dollar
Who sees the angry gods now?

Fallen from crumbling pedestals
Withered leaves, splintered bones
Broken upon the face of mankind’s torment
They are seen
The sky parts
Fire fills the naked wound
They are one
They are all
The angry gods

Burning feet run, toward nowhere
Where to go?
What to do?
Where are the angry gods?

In your mind
They live in your mind
And mine

We are one
We are all
We are angry gods
In disguise

Reason for writing:

The underlying meaning of the poem is that the true gods are ourselves. We create the world we live in and all that happens there, not some all knowing diety.
