Ever and always alone, slowly my heart turns to stone. Soul is poisoned by my sin. In the end I cannot win. But, by God, I'm gonna try. Live my way and Him deny. Wait! What is this voice I hear? Still, small whisper in my ear? "The wages of sin are death. 'Ware to take your final breath." But, I choose this to ignore. In His face I slam the door. I think I was saved...one time. Now, it is the world i mime. Though my heart's void as a tomb, I'll no longer make Him room. Wait! What is this voice I hear? Still, Small whisper in my ear? "Know you can sin unto death. 'Ware to take your final breath." "Shut up!" is all I will say. "Leave me alone! Go away!" It isn't guilt that I need. I prefer to feed my greed. Don't care if I win or lose. Sinful pleasure's what I choose. But, What is this voice I hear? Still, small whisper in my ear? "You haven't much time to wait. Repent, lest it be too late." This warning I do not heed. On rocky ground falls the seed. The voice grows harder to hear. Soon it will be gone, I fear. No more whispers in my head. At last my consience is dead. Oh, what was that voice I heard? Don't recall a single word. Cry out with my final breath... shamefully, I meet my death...
