DON'T WIPE AWAY MY TEARS

by Samantha Lowe - Scorpio

Let these tears roll down my cheek
Let these puddles turn to lakes
Let my dying world seek its end
Let my hand reach out to nothingness
Let my life reach altered ends
Let me stand alone to grasp a hold of myself once again.

Reason for writing:

I was told just yesterday morning that my cousin, who is only 27, has leukemia, lupus, and many other diseases. Not only did she have to have one disease, she had to have many. And so I've been down these past two days, finding myself staring at nothing but walls and trying my hardest not to break down in tears while in the middle of school. I haven't had the chance to talk to my boyfriend about it all yet though. I just wish that someone would understand what I'm going through and not just pity me.... not just sit there and say that things will be better and not to cry... I need someone to hold me and listen to me... no talk, just listen...
