i know the rain brings some people down...i know to some it means that their crops will prosper and grow. to me, it is a return to the liquid that created us. i walked through the rain after class today. i watched as people ran for cover. their hair or books they tried to protect. what could you hope to protect from something as permeating as water. it flows through you and is a part of your existence. all your life you are exposed to water. even a little water on the skin is good every once in a while... i noticed the drops falling all around. i traced their path as they landed on my face. my eyes. my nose. my lips. my cheeks. my chin. all consumed by the precipitous glory that is a gift from mother nature. the few who have learned to accept the sensuality that rain leaves on the skin are blessed. they understand the beauty of life in an ever returning cycle. it falls and will always return to its heights. it ascends and colors the blue sky with shades of white. fluffy white clouds. how i wish you could free me from this thing called gravity.
