Svetlana

by Stuart Logan - Sagittarius

Svetlana

I arrived in Riga city, through the forests of Latvia
and from St. Peter's Tower, I saw the Daugava
I looked in the eyes, of a beautiful girl
my lovely Svetlana, I saw a new world

You captured my heart, and locked it away
I soon had to leave, but I wanted to stay
you showed me around, Riga old town
my lovely Svetlana, at last I have found

We sang with the Scottish, in a Latvian night
we danced with the Russians, in the discotheque light
I could feel warmth, that was long overdue
my lovely Svetlana, there's magic in you

No words are needed, in moments like this
one thousand languages, will meet in a kiss
Byron and Burns, would have composed you rhyme
my lovely Svetlana, forever you'll shine

Your lips so soft, and your beautiful face
your eyes of forever, that lead into space
your smile and sweet voice, will live with me long
my lovely Svetlana, this is your song
