Osteoporosis due to society

by Okino Ritchey - Gemini

Who are you?
What are you?
Is that what you really believe?
Stare into the mirror. Then answer me!

Morals, ethics, and opinions;
Go with them I know you must.
When I question 'bout them
All I hear is the shattering of a bust!

With the noose and straight jacket gone
Away flew the porcelain dust.

Just one question, I must.
Underneath that shirt and tie
Was there ever really a guy?
Of course the was...
At one time.
But he evaporated into the sky!

Pure beliefs,
Like those had by old Phoebe
Are evaporated same as water;
Only...by society!

Reason for writing:

    Explination of title: Osteoporosis is the hardening of the bones due to the loss of calcium; the bones also become brittle and shatter/break easily. The calcium of society is a persons individual thought and ideas. This poem came about due to a class assignment on "The Catcher in the Rye."
