Lonely People

by Kim Shearer - Libra

A lonely heart cries into
The starlit sky of a black and blue
Night filled with the fears
Of the sane people who hide out
In their light-filled houses
Trying to hold together their
Convenient lives they carefully
Pieced together to look beautiful.
While those who have given up
On sanity try to figure out
What went wrong but still
Keep on going up a path
That seems to lead nowhere
Yet everywhere that counts
To their souls.
And death is forgotten and left
Behind in a dark alley of lies
So that deceit can paint
Yet another pretty picture.
