Presence

by S. L. Butterworth - Pisces

I sit outside
with an ebony sky above.
I sit at night
with a moon that's shineing,
Full of love.

I lay outside
with a sky that's full of stars,
Alight!
I lay at night
on grass that's full,
and lush,
and bright.

I hear sweet music on the wind,
Like nothing from this world,
and get a sence of something more.
A mystery?
Or maybe the source of my love and awe.

I see the stars,
and nothing more,
I see the grass and earthen floor,
I see tall pines near the sandy shore,
but I do not see the presence that I felt before.

Atop this hill,
      above the shore,
with the moon just shineing,
             for forever more.
I weep for the friend I never had,
But who always stays so close at hand.

I see a star shoot across the sky,
Like a tear upon my cheek.
I wish my wish upon the star.
"I wish my friend would show me who they are."

Reason for writing:

I was just sitting outside, and I heard a wind chime in the distance, and I started to become very aware of the things about me. So, how about some feed back, please, please, please?
