MY FINAL YEAR (OF HIGH SCHOOL)

by Samantha Lowe - Scorpio

I’m leaving now
Watch me go
Seeking a world
In which I can grow
I don’t need a net to fall on
Or a shoulder to wipe away my tears
I only need a friend to watch
And help wash away my fears
I have dealt with my first heartbreak
Lived through pain and death
Watched friends get pregnant
And taken my first breath
Now I must cradle my past
And look ahead to the future
Don’t worry about what others expect of me
But to paint my own picture
I’m leaving mom and dad
Off to see the ‘real world’
Don’t worry if I fall
For I will always be just your little girl.
