fever breaks in morning sweat from slower breaths and fewer movements dreaming of ignoring demons and going insane waking up to television speeches and the humm of a cat purr walk on a light head hugging the walls to stay upright leaded steps to the fridge I parade for another soda then back to bed my empty stomach at ease with hunger I sleep my days away.
