one last look

by hayley*virgo - Aquarius

I came back to our old meeting place
to find it as familar as when we left two years ago
I was searching,
searching for traces of your footsteps
or lingering scents of you
and hoping,
hoping you too had came back.
I know you were here,
pulling the hair back between your pixie ears
and straining to hear my voice-
walking across the worn and researched ground
in hopes to find pieces of me loosely littered in the dust
You are the only girl I have ever been in love with.
You are the only person who made him leave my dreams.
He is gone.
And someone strange is lurking nearby,
aching for my bed-thoughts
and wanting me to take him to the East Coast
I dont know what else to do
except this time
make sure the door is shut tightly behind me when I leave
