the goldblatt's sign gleams from the corner the bus passes me by the cars speed on by this is the best kind of night the rain comes down the night is beautiful i walk on keeping myself interested a woman walks by, umbrella in hand she gives me a dark look i continue on in my dreams i feel the sign beckoning lawrence street shines from where i stand i walk on and think of the nightlife the rain falls on, uncaring im wet but happy a girl looks me up and down before nodding and smiling wilson flashes by but i keep walking the rain pelts me someone runs behind me past me a woman flashes me i cheer but i keep walking ongoing down broadway past sheridan but soon i get on halsted look back broadway isnt dark tonight people love it i smile i stand there my love for the city growing and growing so for five minutes i stand there watching watching waiting for something then i turn and walk away listening for someone to call me back onto broadway but no one does for im on halsted and when i turn off broadway the rain stops
