I can still remember lying awake at night
waiting for the sun's morning to rise
Sunshine light shine luminescent golden rainbow rays
cast down brightly making way through the window smoke haze
I can still remember sitting in the diner
with my coffee and my cigarettes
Cigarette burning between my fingers slowly dies
thoughts overlaying memories stain the walls and eyes
The backdrop to a world that never existed
I can still remember asking the bartender
for another round of amnesia
Empty liquor bottle on the floor near my feet
again I find myself in this same drunken seat
I can still remember standing in the mirror staring,
searching for the beginings end
Lazer honed razor kissing my flesh with icy lips
thick warm crimson liquid trickling, drips from finger tips
The remeberance of lessons,
in the reflection of life.
