Stay

by Mama Effie - Cancer

The sun is setting ever so gently
Down upon the forested hills
Of the McKenzie Valley
Soon it will be night
Soon the stars shall reign
In this kingdom we have made
Once I called you a jester,
But now I see
Under that facade,
Is the hunter I have been waiting for
So all I have to ask you,
Is please stay here tonight
We could dance
Under the full moons light
And when the morning comes
You can leave
Because I would find
You are only in my dreams
So stay here tonight
With the winds whispering you name
Just so I won't cry
When the sun rises again
Stay here, looking at my stream
Living its life day to day
Singing to me,
Of so many loves,
And that mine alone I can bear
Stay with me,
If only in my dreams
Cause your Father doesn't know me
You mother even hates me
For taking away her little boy
So we have to meet in the night
To share our love
Even if its just a dream,
A simple vision,
Thirty miles may not seem that far
But it keeps you away from me
And only in my heart.
So stay with me
Gazing at your image in the sky
Calm me, cause tomorrow I may cry.
Don't look now,
But I can see the light,
Of a new day upon us,
No longer may you stay
So leave my dreams
SO I may lay in my bed
Thinking of all
You and I have said.
