Untitled - So many people...

by Charles Mathew Tyner III - Scorpio

So many people down and out on the street.
Without clothes on their back and shoes on their feet.

Our first impression is "Bum", our first words "Go get a job".
You say to yourself "What a damn slob."

They could have put themselves in the situation they're in.
By living a life engufed in the essence of sin.

Or they could be a victim of some odd circumstance.
Don't judge them by just taking a glance.

They're human like us, they're not a disease.
Carried by rodents, insects and other pesterous things.

They live and breathe the same air as we.
They just have things harder than you and me.

So when you see them, don't think of them as an "Other".
Think of them as your sister or brother.

Because in God's eyes, they are.

Reason for writing:

There are so many homeless people on the street. And it's disgraceful how they are treated. I used to have that "one-track" mind like everyone else. But when I got to work with the people and hear their stories, I felt like a damn fool for the way I acted. That's the way more people need to be.

"JUDGE not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
                                 Matthew 7:1-2
