Followed by a Reasoning voice, Ignoring every word. I walk alone in a distant blur, The haze blinds my path. Running gently, frayed in every sense, Encouraging happiness, bringing only dread. All that surrounds shows meaning, All except me- I have none in sight. What can I offer but myself and ignorance? The pain in the truth destroys every breath. Within my heart is love, Knocking, pleading, begging to go free. But no- it stays bottled inside, No touch will ever make it to this lonely place. Only I kow its dreams, And I alone wait for its thoughts.
Reason for writing:
At night after I write in my regular journal all of my thoughts bounce around in my head and the only way I get them out is through poetry. This poem came to me after a hard day of feeling unheard and useless. I am a popular girl but I sometimes feel I can't be myself because the truth isn't good enough.
