The Hooded Robe

by Ken Alvey - Leo

All day all night
Darkness covers all my sight
Soul hurts, my life is cold
I wear the hooded robe

I see other smiles
I see people laugh
But hear them? I cannot
I wear the hooded robe

Days dragging on
Nights hanging till dawn
Memory is a dream
I wear the hooded robe

The heart clouds return
Tears falling like rain
My pain is worn and old
I wear the hooded robe

Reason for writing:

I have suffered with clinical depression for most of my life. I am just now understanding why I have felt this way.
