I saw the tears fill in his eyes About to burst from all the lies The hurt was there upon his face A look the truth could not erase I was a fool, I know that now To win him back - I wonder how He always listened when I spoke But now my words are just a joke He looked at me about to cry Spilling out each painful lie I'm such a fool, I hurt him so I didn't then, but now I know The truth ofcourse will go unheard He wont believe a single word He's crying and I feel the pain I want to hold him and explain But what is there that I could say I'm sorry, that sounds so blase Can I erase the damage done Pleading as the teardrops run He looked so sad and what is worse The lies and truth are in reversre If only I could comfort him Remembering the way we were But I know it was no lie When through the sobs came his good-bye .....
