A GUIDING LIGHT

by Nicola Jayne - Taurus

A long and heavy curtain
A ray of light from a little gap
I had control of my emotions
Like switching on and off a tap.
As the curtain opened wider
Amongst the darkness I saw a face
A smiling face that really glowed
So warm in this cold place.
As I edged out from my curtain
I watched someone appear
It was a lady who had a look
A warmth I felt no fear.
We have been to different places
That took a risk to go
But I felt safe from the start
Even though I started off quiet slow.
With small steps I could feel
As I showered with each emotion
It would be so much easier though
If there was some soothing magic potion.
We are at that place that made my throat go numb
I am scared I have to say
But I know the glow that you hold
Will help me find my way.
There isn’t really much I can say
That you don’t already know
But thank you for working with me
With help, I know that I can grow.

Reason for writing:

I was inspired by a someone who Im able to trust, a person who is warm, caring, understanding, supportive, kind, genuine the list could go on. Someone who held out there hand and helped me feel safe, a lady who I owe many thanks to. Thank you Caz.
