You had the key and unlocked the door As I sat and drew upon the floor So many feelings deep inside Sometimes embarrassed And wanting to hide. No-where to go, no-where to run You helped me face what had to be done. I faced the darkness Faced my fear I didn’t feel alone Because a friend was near. You have a gift and many skills You helped me climb Those great big hills. I count you as a friend Not sure if this can be And knowing we may never meet again Brings a tear inside of me. I feel you have so much From you I’d love to learn If only we had met On a different term. You came with me on my journey Gave hugs with a gentle touch And I would just like to say Thank you very, very much
Reason for writing:
I wrote this poem to say thank you to a lady called Caz,who continues to walk with me on my journey of self-discovery.
