Smile and feel my soul crack, Laugh and feel my inside shatter, I have become darkness itself, But Darkness is not me, The hateful armor I wear, Cracks, Shatters and cuts me, Still soft, protected by malice, Untouched by the burning pain of love, Loss, or anything human. My cold, ebon armor protects me from you, Though I try to break it, It does not bend, Does not break, But shatters like porceline for you, My lovers, and your kind words. But the searing cold of others, Facing only their hatred and disdain, Drives me back. Drives me to the void of my armor. In the dark night's warmth, Lovers may speak freely, to no one bt each other, In the day, all is seen, all is heard, All is felt, and returned to it's speaker. I fear the daylight, and it's justice. In the dark, with you, I know the peace, The tranquililty my armor does not grant me, Alone with you, and myself.
Reason for writing:
It's alot like my other poem, 'Armor' only this relates the same feelings a year and a half after I wrote Armor.
