august (like sunlight)

oh Augustine,
  florentine,
 you are so full of sunlight,
-those iridescent slashes 
  of soul so rare
 they peirce the eyes -

oh Augustine,
  crystalline,
 you are so full of sustenance,
-that thick sugary
  substanance
 like crazyglue
 molassas -

you are dripping off our tongues;
  withering into dried flowers and
diluted air.

    summer is rapidly wasting away! :(
